Heldren is a small village in southern Taldor, on the long road between Oppara and Zimar. Although no strangers to travelers between the two cities, the people of Heldren mostly keep to themselves and their small community. Far from the politics of Oppara yet ever-watchful for Qadiran aggression, Heldren goes on as it always has: as a relatively small and unimportant hamlet of farmers, herders, and woodcutters.

The village comprises a cluster of wooden buildings around the Heldren Town Square. Within the town are a few modest enterprises: Isker’s Smithy, the Heldren Sawmill, and some crafts- and tradesmen to support the local community. Outside of the village proper is a sprawl of small farms to keep the villagers in tomatoes and goat’s milk.

heldren-overview-map.jpgHeldren has no inn and only one tavern: the Silver Stoat, whose proprietors have been known to offer shelter overnight for the road-weary. It has a Temple of Erastil (Heldren) which serves the religious needs of the community.

The geography surrounding Heldren consists mostly of plains and sparse forest to the north and east, and the sprawling Border Wood to the west and south. The Border Wood is known for some bandit activity, but these are mostly kept in check by the High Sentinels who reside in the woods.
